I think everyone expects something to go wrong in the first couple months of owning a home. I had dreams about the horrible things that could happen in the days leading up to our closing date. I was hoping it would be something as easy and relatively inexpensive as a water heater. Not so much! We got a notification from our insurance company saying we had to replace our roof or they were going to drop us. We thought we had at least five years left in it. We got the name of a roofer from some friends and he also said the roof had years left in it. He wrote a letter to our insurance company and they accepted it. Paul (the roofer) had some siding left over from a big job and offered us a great deal. So we did it!

Hey -
The house looks great! That siding adds so much and I don't think it looks incomplete w/o the new roof. It looks great just as it is! Nice work.
Also - like the dark tresses - and I do think you could pull off the Siena...so does Scotty :-)
It's absolutely beautiful here today and work went well, so Scotty and I are headed outside to soak in the last bit of vitamin D for the year :-)
Love,
Becca
I think that the thing you are missing, you know, the thing you were worried about going wrong in owning your new home, is the fact that within a couple weeks of owning your home we had managed to take up most of your basement storage with all our stuff. And now you're stuck with it all because we're gone. (unless you've pawned it or craigs-listed it all). If you have, that's ok, just use the $ to come see us.
I am glad you've got this blog going, it lets us keep up with you guys more than just a phone call. We miss you all!
